Clean Face, Clean Slate: 3-Step Method

Clean Face, Clean Slate: 3-Step Method

Cleanse. Tone. Moisturize.

The previous post are a simple introduction on how I have elevated my skincare routine. You do not have to do things the way I do, just consider it a soft guide.

There are only three steps needed to have a skincare routine. Simple and beautiful. However, as simple as the three step method is, some still don’t have a routine. With these three steps, you can never go wrong.

Cleanse

This is simply the best step to feel great. You are basically removing all the sebum, gunk and pollution from your face. The real trick and/or adventure is finding the right cleanser for you and your skin type.

Tone

A toner's function is simple. It is supposed to help bring balance to your skin's pH and it can also help remove any residue left over from the cleanser. The best kind of toner to get is one that is alcohol free. You want your skin to feel hydrated, not dry, which is what alcohol does to the skin.

Moisturize

Who doesn't love a good cream on the face? Well, that is really contingent upon your skin type, but you do need a moisturizer. There are so many in the world. Gels, lotions, creams (with different levels of thickness), the fun comes in trying some out. Just because it is cheap, that doesn’t mean it won't work and just because it is pricey, that doesn’t mean its magic. It's truly a matter of trial and error & time.

The easy three step method is great for day and night routines. The ultimate goal is to get the skin clean to reveal a nice, healthy glow. If you decide to use this method in the day time, do not forget to also wear your SPF!
