Pills & Potions for Beauty

Pills & Potions for Beauty

The beauty industry is a million dollar industry. Everywhere you turn, someone is pushing something on you. It basically can make you feel like you may not be good enough or something is wrong with you. I hate that feeling.

Back in the day, the thing to do if you wanted to get fit and right, you take Slim Fast. Now, it seems like there is a pill or a tea that can be taken to get the body "right." To be honest, I think it is a system of marketing abuse. Sure, they, the supplements, may be able to provide some results, if any, but the makers of the items make it seem as if the results would be dramatic.

Nothing really beats watching what you eat and being active. No tea, pill or lollipop is going to change that. The sad part, some people think that the items will replace having a healthier lifestyle.

Another issue that I noticed is the notion of designer or boutique style supplements. They seem to use prettier packaging and a higher price point. It all just seems a bit gimmicky to me. What makes your product better that the one sold at my pharmacy? Having Millennial Pink on the wrapper does not make the over-priced product work any better. Celebrity endorsements don’t improve results, especially when the people promoting the weight loss products have had cosmetic work done on their bodies.

I'm just sick of the false hope being sold to people. As much as I hate seeing it sold, I cannot stand when some think it will actually work for them. Reduction of junk, increase activity and healthier options is the only way to go. If a pill needs to be taken, it should only be to supplement something that may be missing from the healthier foods eaten, but enough of my rant.
