Hello!

Winter Is Coming: Feet

Winter Is Coming: Feet

Often neglected, but equally important, your feet need love too, especially in the winter. I really understand how one can forget about the feet, but let's try to always keep them in mind moving forward. Now that cuffing season is upon us, we do not need bae getting cut by rough feet, nor do we need to leave foot crust in the sheets. There will be two ways to get your feet winter and cuddle time approved.

DIY

This may be the cheapest way to get your feet together, but it may require some elbow grease. Ultimately, the goal is to get rid of the rough and dead skin of the feet. Yes, exfoliation is needed on the feet too! You can get a pumice stone or a foot file to get the skin off. In my experience, it's easier to do it after your feet have been soaking or when you are fresh out of the shower. You won't end up with foot dust flying all over the place. For easy cleanup, have old newspaper down to catch the dead skin. Now, just put in that work and get your feet to the desired smoothness. Once the feet are smooth, focus on your toenails. Clip, file, and paint if you desire. Follow up with a good moisturizer or butter to keep them soft. I like to finish the job with a clean pair of white socks.

PEDICURE

If you have the money, get the help of a professional. One aspect I like about a pedicure is the levels and options you can pick. Get something simple and easy or select something luxurious and relaxing. The choice is yours. Someone is doing the hard work for you so just be prepared to compensate them for their services.

BABY FOOT

Basically, this is a chemical peel for your feet. If you are familiar with a chemical peel, you know there is peeling involved and this is no different. If you have plans to be with someone special or will have your feet out, just know you have a small window to keep your feet out without scaring people. All you need is to locate the exfoliating socks, put them on and let your feet sit in the solution for the allotted time. Once that time is up, remove the exfoliating socks and put on your regular cotton socks. I like this method, especially when I'm feeling lazy. For the first two to three days, my feet are nice and smooth. After that, in true chemical peel fashion, the dead skin starts to fall off or peel away from the foot. It is suggested that you don't pull the skin. However, what I do is help the process in the shower by using my washcloth to help remove the dead skin. When I'm done with my shower, I apply petroleum jelly and white socks. The downside to this method is the amount of dead skin you will see. It's not the sexiest way to get smooth feet, but after the gross peeling, your feet will be extremely smooth, like a baby's butt!
