Hello!

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in beauty. Hope you have a beautiful day!

Do You Mask?

Do You Mask?

Do you mask? I do! It’s a lovely, luxurious step in my routine. It gives me time to do other things while the mask works its magic. Mainly, I like to use a sheet mask. That’s because all you have to do is rip it open and apply the mask. Simplicity at its finest!

Another type of mask that I have used in the past, but not so much now is a mud mask. Back in the day, not too long ago, I was on a mission to clear out my pores. The mud masks were usually purchased from Ulta. If memory serves me right, Mario Badescu was the maker of the first mud mask I purchased. The one thing that stood out was the fact that the water always separated from the mud and I had to stir it. The name of it escapes me and I cannot find it on the company website or Ulta and to be honest, it might be for the best because it might not have been the best for me at the time. I would apply the mask and allow it to dry. That clay mask really got dry, as in bone dry. While it helped, it also caused my skin to end up feeling bone dry. One day, I decided to mask again and when I opened it, it was dry. I eventually threw it away. I never purchased it again. However, I wasn’t going to give up on mud masks. I tried one by Formula 10.0.6. I liked it more and it was cheaper. The one thing I can say about a clay/mud mask is that although it helps with clearing out pores, it dries the hell out of my face. On top of that, it can be more of a hassle to remove.

Fresh Beauty has a lovely rose mask that I had a sample of. At the time, I needed some extra hydration for my skin. Mission accomplished with that mask. It was almost like the mud mask, but it wasn’t mud nor did it dry my skin. To be honest, it was much easier to remove. I cannot wait to add it to my skincare army, right next to those jelly masks.

Another style of masking that I have tried and like is a sleeping mask. After the routine, simply apply the sleeping mask and go to sleep. I have one for my face and lips. Both provide moisture to my skin while I sleep and when I wake up, glowing hydrated skin. Naturally, I am happy.

As stated earlier, masking, for me, is just an extra step. I love extra!
