Banila Co: Skin Starter Set

Banila Co: Skin Starter Set

Who doesn't love being introduced to a new brand? Technically, they have been around, but they were always on my list of brands to try. If you are into K-beauty, you have more than likely heard the brand name of Banila Co. They are mainly known for the Clean It Zero cleansing balm. Today, I'm going to share my experience with the brand using a simple routine in Banila Co Skin Starter Set.

Naturally, excitement set in due to the fact that I won this set via a giveaway and because I have been curious about the brand and their cult-favorite cleansing balm. Now that I have it, let's break it all down. Keep reading!

CLEAN IT ZERO CLEANSING BALM

I love to double cleanse. It gives your skin a next-level kind of clean. It removes all of the SPF and oils from the face. Consider it the first line of defense for good skin. The version in the set is the original version. Banila Co has different versions of the balm based upon the different skin types.

I simply scooped out the desired amount and warmed it between the palms in order to transform the balm from its solid state to a more liquid form and massaged it into my face. It felt nice on the face. I would say if you have any type of sensitivity to fragrance, this may cause some irritation. I personally had no major issues. The first time I used the balm, it felt like it didn’t rinse off well. To be honest, it made me a bit sad, however, I didn't just want to dismiss this balm. When it was time to use it again, I had to think about the first time I used it and figure out how to avoid the same disappointment. The final result was just a simple user error. I failed to completely emulsify the balm the first time. I would definitely recommend using the 60-second rule for the massage of the balm and when water is added to get the milky look prior to rinsing off. Happy to report that the balm is pretty good.

CLEAN IT ZERO FOAMING CLEANSER

The second phase of the double cleanse is a water-based cleanser. I have used many foaming cleansers in my day. I loved it at first use. When it comes to the scent, it smells very...pink! It's hard to describe it any other way, but again if you have a sensitivity to scents, this may not be for you, but I would say try it and just don’t use as much. One thing I liked about this foaming cleanser is when the cleansing balm didn’t wash off completely, mentioned above, this foaming cleanser made sure my face was clean. On top of that, my face wasn’t dry. I would recommend this, hands down!

DEAR HYDRATION TONER

This toner is really nice. After the double cleanse, the toner was used. If you need a simple toner that can add some hydration, this would be a good go-to. This toner contains bamboo and lotus flower extract and is made for dry and sensitive skin. The toner does not sting or irritate the skin. If you are in the market for just a nice toner, I say pick this one up.

DEAR HYDRATION BOOSTING CREAM

The best way to finish off any routine is with a moisturizer. This is just a nice, smooth moisturizer that gets the job done. The texture is soft and not heavy.

Overall, this is a nice introduction to the brand Banila Co. If you love K-Beauty, you will love this and if you are curious, I would recommend getting this to try. These items are also available for individual purchase. Nothing can beat a simple routine and this can help you with keeping your routine simple and cute. Also, this set is amazing for travel both road trips and flights.
