Hello!

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in beauty. Hope you have a beautiful day!

WAXED OFF: My first and possibly last time getting waxed

WAXED OFF: My first and possibly last time getting waxed

I have been curious about getting waxed for a while now. I'm really hairy. At random moments while staring into space, I often notice the amount of hair on my body and decided to remove it. In those spaced out thoughts, it seems like the best idea, at the time. Now, begins the mission to get silky smooth.

Depending on the area, I start with small clippers or just go straight to the razor. If I'm lazy and don't feel like doing too much work and I'm willing to burn, the smelly depilatory cream comes into play. In the beginning, it always feels like a good idea. However, midway through this draining task, I feel foolish and defeated, but I continue because I refuse to give up on beauty. Fast-forward around 45 minutes to an hour or so later, there is a Chewbacca amount of hair removed from my body. Next stop, exfoliation, shower and application of lotion and the amount of smoothness leaves me in awe. Yet, I rest on my bed from exhaustion and always think to myself: "Why not just get this shit waxed?"

To be honest, I'm terrified. Not of the general pain that may be involved, but the amount of hair I have and wish to be waxed off will leave me in a coma! Yes, my body is that hair (a genetic trait from my mother's side of the family). I always think about getting my full body waxed, but outside of the level of discomfort, there's the amount of money I would spend. I try to tell myself to just stick to the areas I cannot reach.

In this very moment, there is a game plan in place that will include waxing, shaving and a smelly cream. When it comes to the waxing, the least painful route will be taken, I.e. sugaring. I cannot wait to share this experience, even if it means I join the ranks of men that scream in pain.

UPDATE: My esthetician opened her office back up and I booked my appointment for the waxing. I said I wanted to get my back and legs waxed. Then I thought about the fact that no one will be seeing my back and it might not be as hairy as I thought. I then decided at the last minute to cancel the back wax and just stick with my legs and arms.

I arrived on my day and played catch up slightly. I had to complete this mini questionnaire since the whole COVID-19. The first waxing took place on my upper arm. It hurt so bad! We didn’t even finish and went to my legs. It hurt there too. It hurt so bad, we did not complete the whole leg. After that traumatic saga, I decided to treat myself to a much needed facial. To hear my screams mixed with laughter, check out my IGTV.
